Abstract: Typically, response to ransomware attacks are considered to be a technical issue for CISO’s and technical staff. This session will focus on the legal issues associated with ransomware -who has responsibility for prevention of attacks, who has responsibility for response, what standards should be used? It will also discuss topics like ransomware insurance (the good, the bad and the ugly), liability for paying (or not paying) ransom, duties to customers, clients, and third parties, and other associated legal issues. 5/17 Presentation
