Abstract:  With the recent rise in the number and types of attacks against software supply chains, vulnerabilities in open source software (OSS) are top of mind for security practitioners. Join us for a discussion about OSS dependency risk management. Our speakers will share insights and best practices for getting visibility into the use of OSS in your development pipelines, and effectively managing associated risks.

About the Speakers:  Maxim (Max) Kovalsky is a Managing Director in Grant Thornton’s Cybersecurity & Privacy practice, based in the New York City office.  Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Max served New York City Cyber Command, both as an external advisor and an executive employee where he focused on shared cybersecurity services strategy, critical infrastructure protection, and smart city security. Max’s prior experience includes leading threat detection & response advisory services with Deloitte, building cyber threat intelligence subscription service at Flashpoint, and contracting for the FBI’s Intelligence Directorate to provide operational and intelligence support to over 20 complex cybercrime and white-collar crime investigations. Max has presented at many conferences and published on a range of topics covering cybersecurity and information warfare. Max is an active reservist and a member of the US Army Reserve 75th Innovation Command.  Max holds a Bachelor of Fine Art from School of Visual Arts, and Master of Arts in International Studies from Columbia University.  Max is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Nic LaBuz is a Go-To-Market leader with 10+ years of experience building and leading field sales and sales engineering organizations in cloud & cybersecurity. He recently joined Endor Labs as its Vice President of Worldwide Sales after spending 5+ years scaling RedLock (acquired by Palo Alto Networks) from a pre-revenue startup to the markets leading Cloud Security platform.
